Yesterday the kids and I worked some Halloween magic on our front porch.  Originally I was only going to do one pumpkin, but then I came across this worried jack-o-lantern and decided to do my take on it.  The kids and I had a lot of fun tossing the little spiders into the web that we spread all over one side of the front porch.

I wish I had remembered to take pictures while we were in the process of dissecting the pumpkins because my daughter’s face when she first put her hand inside was hilarious.  It took a lot of convincing after that initial contact with the slimy insides to get her to try again.  Eventually, it became a non-issue and she was digging away with my son and I.  The best part for me this year was that my son cleaned out an entire pumpkin all by himself.  He actually refused help.  It was awesome.  I’m loving that holiday decorating is becoming more of a true family affair, instead of 99% mom hard labor and 1% kiddo participation.   Their so proud of everything when all done, it makes it all worth the work.

Here are some other great  pumpkin ideas I found while searching for our Halloween project this year .

  1. Pumpkin Jack
  2. Fabric Covered Pumpkin
  3. Sequin Pumpkins
  4. Hand Print Pumpkins
  5. B-Witchin Pumpkins
